The Pride crosswalk in Sault Ste. Marie is beaming once again.
Two days after someone defaced the downtown walk with red spray paint, city crews have covered over the vandalism at Spring and Bay streets.
Sault Police continue to investigate the incident, including looking for witnesses and possible video footage.
The new Pride crosswalk was originally painted on June 20, just a few blocks west of the original location at East and Bay streets, near the library.
The vandalism occurred after a pair of duelling protests on either side of the street over the Canada Day weekend.
Roughly a dozen people, mostly evangelical Christians, protested at the new crosswalk on Saturday and Monday, while 30 others staged a counter protest across the street in support of Sault Pride.
