Firefighters respond to garage blaze overnight

There is extensive fire and smoke damage to the garage and significant exposure damage to a vehicle that was in close proximity to the garage

At approximately one a.m., Sault Ste. Marie firefighters responded to a garage fire in the 300 block of Case Road. 

“Upon arrival, there was visible smoke and flames from the detached garage structure. Fire crews were able to contain and extinguish the fire," said a news release issued by Sault Fire Services.

Aaron Gravelle, public education officer with Sault Fire Services, said the investigation is complete and the cause will be left as undetermined. 

"The police were not involved in this incident," Gravelle said.

There is extensive fire and smoke damage to the garage and significant exposure damage to a vehicle that was in close proximity to the garage.

There were no injuries to report, the release said.
