Fire crews were called to a house fire on Blake Avenue just after 11 p.m. on Easter Sunday.

Firefighters battled the initial blaze quickly as heavy plumes of smoke escaped from the top portion of the house.

Several witnesses living just a few doors down heard a loud bang before observing the blaze.

Emergency services closed off Blake Avenue between Wawanosh Avenue and Oryme Avenue.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. No injuries have been reported.
