Due to dry conditions and a higher than usual risk of forest fires, Johnson Township (Desbarats area) has issued a fire ban effective immediately.
The fire ban prohibits all outdoor fires, including fireworks.
Anyone who contravenes the fire ban is liable to a fine and whatever cost that are associated with extinguishing the fire.
All previously issued fire permits are suspended until further notice.
The Town of Bruce Mines has also issued a ban on all outdoor fires until further notice.
