An unattended stove caused a fire and 'significant' damage to an apartment building in the 100 block of Gore Street on Friday, Feb. 24, according to a news release.
Sault Ste. Marie Fire Service was called shortly before 5:30 p.m. to a kitchen fire in a multi-unit residential dwelling. Crews contained and extinguished the fire.
The release stated there is significant damage to dwelling unit of the building. One resident was taken to hospital for precautionary reasons. There were no injuries to report.
