February bridge crossings up over 2021 numbers

The number of crossings remains significantly lower than pre-pandemic levels

The latest numbers from the International Bridge Administration show crossings in February 2022 were up by 48.9 per cent over February 2021.

The numbers for the month remain down from pre-pandemic levels. 

"The change in traffic comparing 2022 to pre-pandemic crossings in 2020 for the month of February, autos have decreased 89 per cent, pre-paid accounts have decreased 84.8 per cent and commercial vehicles have declined 26..3 per cent," an IBA release noted.

As of Feb. 28, the year-to-date crossings were 32,093, an increase of 38.1 per cent over 2021, but down 82.4 per cent from the same period in 2020.
