Extreme Cold Warning in effect for:
- Wawa - Pukaskwa Park
- White River - Dubreuilville
- Agawa - Lake Superior Park
Wind chill values minus 40 to minus 45 this morning. Temperatures are expected to moderate this afternoon.
Extreme cold puts everyone at risk. Watch for cold related symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes. Dress warmly. Dress in layers that you can remove if you get too warm. The outer layer should be wind resistant.
Check on older family, friends and neighbours. If it’s too cold for you to stay outside, it’s too cold for your pet to stay outside. Outdoor workers should take regularly scheduled breaks to warm up. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.

Snow Squall Watch in effect for:
- Agawa - Lake Superior Park
- Wawa - Pukaskwa Park
Snow squalls are possible beginning this afternoon.
What: Heavy lake effect snow with accumulations of 15 to 45 cm. Reduced visibility in heavy snow and local blowing snow.
When: This afternoon through Wednesday. Additional information: Lake effect snow off of Lake Superior is likely to affect the area this afternoon through Wednesday. Lake effect snow bands may be somewhat transitory today, but are expected to become stronger and more stationary on Wednesday. Westerly or southwesterly winds gusting to 50 km/h may result in local blowing snow, especially for exposed areas near Lake Superior.
Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Road closures are possible.
