Extendicare (Canada) Inc. gives Inspiring Growth Capital Campaign a major boost

SAULT COLLEGE - A generous $300,000 donation from Extendicare (Canada) Inc. is helping bring Sault College’s Inspiring Growth Campaign closer to its goal.

In recognition of their gift, Sault College will be naming the second floor of the School of Health Sciences building, which includes a number of simulation labs, “The Extendicare Centre for Applied Learning in Health Sciences”.

“We are pleased to be able to provide support to the Inspiring Growth Capital Campaign and honoured with the recognition that will be displayed in the School of Health Sciences,” states Tim Lukenda, Extendicare president and CEO. “Extendicare and Sault College share a common belief in the value of developing an educated and committed workforce. We look forward to working together and enhancing the opportunities for the students who will be our community’s health care professionals of the future.”

Since opening its doors in 1965, Sault College has played a valuable role in the community, contributing significantly to the educational, social and economic well-being of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma Region residents and businesses.

“The support of partners, industry as well as local and regional municipalities is essential to the success of an educational institution that seeks to grow,” states Jim Boniferro, chair of the Inspiring Growth Campaign.

“The support of companies like Extendicare will strengthen our curriculum and programming and will create opportunities for advancing the learning environment for our students,” states Dr. Ron Common, president of Sault College. “Sault College provides long term benefits to businesses like Extendicare by graduating highly qualified students who will fill valuable roles within these organizations.”
