Engines and Train Demonstration

The Algoma Model Engineering Society is having a show and demonstration in the Cambrian Mall, South entrance, besides Coles Bookstore. The dates are Friday March 13 until Sunday March 15 and Friday March 20 until Sunday March 22. On display, there will be display and are demonstrating model steam and gas engines, antique full size engines and second world war military equipment. Intro to 3D Printing

Have you seen a 3D printer online and think you might like to try your hand? Are you interested in creating your own 3D objects but need some help getting started? At 4:00 p.m., attend an introduction to these amazing machines. In this Maker North class you will learn how to safely use a 3D printer (FDM) and get started on your own projects. Mindful Snow Shoe Trek at Hiawatha Highlands

Jack.org and Mental Health Services has organized a unique opportunity for students to get out during winter. The Mindful Snow Shoe Trek is a 2 km walk through the Pinder Snow Shoe trail at Hiawatha Highlands.The $5 cost for this event will include transportation, your pass, snow shoe rental and a snack. Event takes place at 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Addiction & Mental Health Advocates Presents: Behind Closed Doors

Proud to be part of the Fishbowl Festival 2020, Addiction and Mental Health Advocates present an evening of powerful monologues, locally written,about issues of addiction and mental health in Sault Ste Marie. It promises to be an evening that you won't forget. All money raised will be shared between The Fishbowl Festival, Sault Theatre Workshop, and Addiction and Mental Health Advocates. Cost is $15 or included with a Fishbowl Festival pass. Tickets are available at [email protected]. Event takes place on Friday or Saturday from 7-10:30 p.m. at the Sault Theatre Workshop.

Solitary Refinement

An immersive live stage experience based on the best-selling books of Richard Wurmbrand, and on persecution around the world today will take place at Bethel Bible Chapel from 7-8:30 p.m. The run time is 75 minutes and is appropriate for ages 13+. Admission is free. The script is written and performed by award-winning international artist Dennis J. Hassell, directed by triple Dora Award nominee Tom Carson (five nationally touring productions), with original music composed by Emmy-winner and renowned recording artist Tom Szczesniak.

Algoma's Got Talent

Cheer on Thunderbirds from 8-11 p.m. at The Speakeasy for Algoma’s Got Talent, as they compete for an unforgettable prize. There will also be free food, and the bar will be open. After the show, a live band will keep you dancing all night long.

LUTA Wrestling

Come watch wrestling as it was meant to be seen. LUTA! Wrestling on a raised platform, bright lights, big screen, athlete walkouts, and music. Event will feature some of the best youth, highschool and university athletes in the country, MMA fighters and Jiu Jitsu athletes trying to compete against wrestlers, former local wrestling champions stepping back on the mat for one more chance at glory (or humiliation), some local personalities trying their hand at wrestling. All proceeds go to support the Algoma Wrestling program and the SCMMA youth wrestling program. The event will take place from 6-11 p.m. at The Machine Shop. Ticket are available on Eventbrite.

Learn to Restring Your Guitar Clinic

This is free clinic all about changing the strings on your acoustic or electric guitar. You will learn what to look for to keep your guitar in optimal playing shape. Email [email protected] to register. The clinic takes place from 2-5 p.m. at Long & McQuade.

Winnie B's Travelling Jewelry Show

Come and enjoy an evening of Winnie B's vintage jewelry and old fashioned cocktails (and beer and wine) from 6-9 p.m. It's a jewelry show with baubles, beads, bracelets, and brooches! Enjoy a glass of wine while you mingle and shop. Feel free to wear your favourite vintage attire. Event takes place at Shabby Motley.

Open Football Camp

All players high school age and older are welcome to this open football camp at Northern Community Centre from 7:30-9 p.m. There is a $10 entry fee.

The Simon & Garfunkel Story

The Simon & Garfunkel Story is touring North America again this year! Using state of the art projection photos and original film footage, featuring a full live band performing all the hits including ‘Mrs. Robinson’, ‘Cecilia’, ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’, ‘Homeward Bound’ and many more. Show takes place at the Sault Community Theatre Centre from 8-10 p.m.

Annual Stokely Creek Fat Bike Tour

Tae part in the annual end of season Stokely Creek Group Ride. The group will be meeting at Stokely Creek parking lot for 9 a.m. This is a super fun social group fat bike that generally adventures to Norms Cabin and back. Some may want to ride longer and some may want to shorten the ride - choose your own adventure! Bring some food, beverages, and a good attitude. Rentals are available but limited, call the shop to inquire at 705-253-9388.

Discover Scuba Diving

Have you always wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater? While not a scuba certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world. To sign up for a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience, you must be at least 10 years old. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but you need to be in reasonable physical health. Courses are by appointment only at the YMCA, on both Saturday and Sunday. Call 705-949-3133 ext. 211 for more information.

Maple Syrup 101 Workshop

Join Hogan's Homestead owners; Spencer and Erica for a three hour workshop on inside their head office at 96 White Oak Drive East, Sault Ste. Marie between 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. During the workshop you will learn about finding the right trees, collecting sap, filtering, boiling, do's don'ts, right practices, bottling, packaging, storing along with a Q&A, light breakfast included by Feeding Your Soul Café. All participants will receive an eight piece maple syrup kit to go home and start making syrup. They also welcome you to bring a family member or another maple lover you will be doing this with for only $25.00, this price does not include the kit.  Tickets can be purchased online at https://hoganshomestead.ca/workshops-and-classes, or on the phone at 705-246-7673.
