A group of high students from the Sault have joined fellow students from Espanola on a travel adventure in Portugal.
Students from the École secondaire Notre-Dame-du-Sault along with students from École secondaire catholique La Renaissance in Espanola are spending their March Break travelling around the country.
"Students and school staff are having a wonderful time exploring the multiple landscapes of Portugal," Conseil Scolaire Catholique Nouvelon said in a news release.
During the first four days of their vacation, students discovered the rich culture, history and architecture of Portugal by visiting popular landmarks such as Jeronimos Monastery, Belém Tower, Monument of Discoveries, and São Jorge Castle.
Their adventure has taken them to numerous destinations in Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais, Batalha, Fàtima and Coimbra.
"Through this memorable field trip overseas, students have opened their horizons and experienced culture up close through food, arts and sightseeing," the school board said.
Next up on their trip, the group is headed to Porto to live a truly authentic experience in the heart and centre of traditional fado music.
