Esteemed Sault College prof hurt on way to picket line

Doris Boissoneau, Sault College Ojibwe language professor and recipient of the Order of Ontario and the Queen's Jubilee Medal, was injured yesterday in a two-vehicle crash that occurred while she was on her way to picket-line duty at Sault College.

Doris Boissoneau, Sault College Ojibwe language professor and recipient of the Order of Ontario and the Queen's Jubilee Medal, was injured yesterday in a two-vehicle crash that occurred while she was on her way to picket-line duty at Sault College. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening, but damage to both vehicles was reported to be severe.

City Police issued the following news release.

********************* Just after 7:30 a.m. [yesterday] City Police attended at Willow Avenue near Malabar Drive for another motor vehicle collision with injuries.

A car operated by 50-year-old Doris Boissoneau of 379 Lake Street was turning left from Willow Avenue into a private drive.

It is alleged that a car operated by Ann-Margaret Graham of 98 Pawating Place was attempting to overtake the Boissoneau vehicle on the left when the vehicles collided.

Mrs. Boissoneau was taken to the Sault Area Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Both vehicles sustained severe damage.

The investigation is continuing.
