Snow squall watch issued for:
   Sault Ste. Marie - St. Joseph Island, Ont.

Current details:
Lake-effect snow squalls may develop today.

Hazards:
Local snowfall accumulations near 15 cm.
Reduced visibility heavy snow and blowing snow.

Timing:
This afternoon and evening.

Discussion:
Lake-effect snow may intensify this afternoon into heavier snow squalls. Lake-effect snow will ease after midnight as winds become northeasterly.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero.

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
