People are being urged to avoid the area near Rupert Acres trailer park as emergency crews respond to an "active incident."

"Aweres Fire Rescue is on scene at an active incident in Rupert Acres trailer park, please avoid the area and allow our crews room to work," says a Facebook post from the department.

SooToday will provide more details as they become available.

Last September, the company that owns the mobile home park was fined $100,000 by the province for failing to ensure its raw sewage system complies with environmental standards.

The company was also slapped with a $25,000 victim fine surcharge, according to a news release issued at the time by Ontario’s Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks.
