A sad Good Friday for a child in Sault Area Hospital turned into a happy day after all.

Sault Ste. Marie Helping Hands was holding its Easter Eggstravaganza at 112 Crawford Avenue Friday, including a bake sale, Easter Egg hunt and photos with the Easter Bunny for children.

Reader Kevin Haryett informed us a local mom called Helping Hands, informing the group her daughter Ryleigh was in Sault Area Hospital, too ill to attend the Eggstravanganza and brokenhearted over not being able to visit the Easter Bunny.

With that, Helping Hands sent the Easter Bunny to visit Ryleigh in Sault Area Hospital.

“The expression on young Ryleigh’s face was priceless. Ryleigh's day was complete. There is nothing like the smile of a child,” Haryett wrote in a message to SooToday Sunday.
