Some good news for a change: We can all savour an extra hour of sleep tonight. All you have to do is remember to reset your clocks before hitting the pillow tonight.
Daylight Saving Time officially ends Sunday at 2 a.m., which means our clocks will fall back one hour.
Like every year when the clocks change, Sault Fire Services is also reminding residents to use this opportunity to test all of your hard-wire and battery-operated smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
Working smoke alarms are required by law on every storey of a home and outside of all sleeping areas. Carbon monoxide detectors also must be installed outside all sleeping areas in homes with a fuel-burning appliance, fireplace, or attached garage.
Not everyone supports the idea of changing our clocks twice a year.
Some politicians have been working to stick to Daylight Saving Time 365 days a year. In 2020, a private members bill to end the time change in Ontario passed, but there has been no progress since because New York State and Quebec would have to be on board.
