Don't forget! Clocks fall back tonight

People will gain an extra hour of sleep tonight.

Daylight saving time ends on Nov. 3 at 2 a.m. That means that early Sunday morning the clocks will fall back an hour.

Some politicians have been working to stick to daylight time and not change the clocks twice a year. In 2020, a private members bill to end the time change in Ontario passed, but there has been no progress since. To move ahead, New York State and Quebec would have to be on board.

With clocks falling back, fire departments also encourage people to change smoke detector batteries and to make sure that smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are not expired.
