Residents in Sault Ste. Marie may notice Canada Post’s streetside equipment being relocated this weekend as the organization undergoes some restructuring to their delivery layout across town.
Local area manager Pino Caputo told SooToday upwards of 80 relay boxes will be relocated by a third-party contractor throughout the weekend. He says the transition will make delivery services easier for mail carriers.
“We redid the layout of what the letter carriers walk every day,” he says. “We try to strategically locate the boxes so they’re not carrying a lot of weight.”
Caputo adds there should be no delivery interruptions to the community.
“We want to make sure we don’t interrupt services to our residents,” he says. “We’ll be ready to go Monday morning.”
