If you grew a giant pumpkin in your garden this year, here's one event you'd be out of your gourd to miss.

The Algoma Farmers' Market will be holding its Annual Pumpkin Weigh-Off on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion.

If you have a great big pumpkin to show off, you are being encouraged to bring it to the Pavilion parking lot to be weighed, the Sault Ste. Marie Public Library said in a release.

Green thumbs (or is that orange thumbs?) can start bringing their pumpkins at 11 a.m. with the weigh-off beginning at noon.

Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place.

Prizes will also be awarded for the largest zucchini and largest sunflower head.

Participants can begin bringing their zucchinis and sunflowers at 9 a.m. with the competition beginning at 11:30 a.m.

The library will be offering a storytime and crafts starting at 10:30 a.m. for the young ones.
