Uncle, Great Uncle and Great Great Uncle of many nieces and nephews.

First and foremost his proudest accomplishment was marrying the love of his life, Teresa and having five beautiful children. There was nothing he would not do for us, and we are ever so grateful for the sacrifices he made in his life to completely cover us in his love, every day of our lives. Our home was home to everyone, immersed in laughter, music, conversation and of course food and it will always be the one thing that binds us to so many that experienced it.  Dad wore so many hats, all of which hold a very special place in our hearts. He was a boxer early on in life, known as Whipper D’Ettorre, a War Veteran, a devout Catholic, being an active member of his Church as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and member of the choir to name just a few in his service to GOD throughout his Life. He gave from his heart to many charities and supported several fundraising events over the years while living in Bayview. He was a co-founder of Soo Minor Baseball, Umpire in Chief for the Ontario Umpires Association, band Manager (Reuben) to Preacher, volunteered for St. John’s Ambulance, a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and without a doubt made the best sausages and porchetta in the Soo. He played an extra in the movie 'Looking for Angelina', and was fondly known as Goomba (Godfather) and the Mayor of Maple View.

Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 6-9pm. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Veronica’s Catholic Church on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 11am with Rev. Ron Ambeault officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or ARCH would be greatly appreciated by the family.

To the entire staff at Mapleview, we want you to know from the moment we walked into the door we felt like it was home for Dad and all of us. To the residents and families who we grew to love and become our family, we will miss you all.

Special thanks to the Twin Lakes Staff and the Physiotherapy Team.  There are no words to express how each and every one of you were special Angels to our Daddy and our family, your exceptional care and compassion were  evident each and every day he was with you, from the day he moved in, until the moment he passed.

Thank you for making this chapter in Dad’s journey of life in his new home extraordinary for him and all of us.  He loved everyone so much we know he will be remembered for many things, especially his winks and kisses. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.arthurfuneralhome.com
