The red light from Rudolph’s nose may be needed to help guide travellers this Christmas Day.

A fog advisory issued for our area says dense fog is expected to persist throughout the day and continue through tonight.

“Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero,” Environment Canada said. “Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility.”

“If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop,” it recommended.

Fog advisory issued for:
   Sault Ste. Marie - St. Joseph Island, Ont. (048830)
   Greater Sudbury and vicinity, Ont. (049100)
   Elliot Lake - Ranger Lake, Ont. (049200)
   Manitoulin - Blind River - Killarney, Ont. (049900)

Current details:
Near zero visibility in fog is expected or occurring.

Dense fog is expected to persist through Christmas Day and continue through tonight. Fog will lift Tuesday morning.

Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility.

If travelling, be prepared for areas of near-zero visibility. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
