A loss of supply at Hydro One transmission stations resulted in widespread power outages north of Sault Ste. Marie Friday morning.

Approximately 4,000 customers in the Goulais River, Haviland Bay and Batchawana Bay areas were impacted.

A spokesperson for Algoma Power Inc. told SooToday there were two power outages that lasted roughly five minutes each. Power has since been restored to all customers.

Crews have isolated the issue and are currently working to make the necessary repairs.
