Community Builders Awards: Nick Brash brings world-class racing to the Algoma region

This year’s Sports and Recreation Award recipient has created an inclusive culture in the Sault for runners to get outside and compete

Nick Brash’s passion and enthusiasm for trail running has encouraged Saultites to get active, in addition to boosting tourism in the region.

Nick is the chief organizer of Ultra Trail Stokely Creek, an event that showcases the beautiful Algoma highlands and draws visitors from across Canada and the U.S. to participate.

Ultra Trail Stokely Creek has been officially named a qualifying race for Ultra-Trail-du-Mont-Blanc (UTMB) in France, one of the most prestigious running events in the world.

It is the only qualifying race of its kind in Ontario.

It is Nick’s pride in the Algoma area and his vision to nurture and support the local running community and tourism industry that has made this achievement possible.

Congratulations, Nick!
