NORTH BAY, ON - Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Commissioner Chris Lewis has named former Superintendent Joffre (Jeff) Dupuis as the new regional commander for the North East Region at the rank of chief superintendent.

Dupuis brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to the position of Regional Commander as a direct result of his 28-year career with the Ontario Provincial Police.
Prior to his new appointment, Dupuis was the superintendent, director of operations, North East Region.
Dupuis has served in various capacities and locations in both the North East and East Regions.
Dupuis’ hands-on experience provides him with extensive operational expertise.

In January 2000, he was promoted to Inspector and undertook command of the newly amalgamated Hawkesbury OPP Detachment.
Dupuis is a recipient of the Police Exemplary Service Medal and the Ordre de la Pléiade, in recognition of his commitment and dedication to French language services.
"It is truly a privilege for me to serve the people of Northern Ontario in the capacity of regional commander,” says Chief Superintendent Dupuis. "I am proud to have been born and raised in the town of Mattawa and know, firsthand, about the resilience of those who choose to call Northern Ontario home.”
