Collection of unique guitars stolen from west end home (3 photos)

'I'm devastated and it's senseless,' says musician/music teacher

Shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday morning, Sault Ste. Marie musician Aaron Lucas pleaded with his Facebook friends to put the word out that his collection of left-handed guitars was stolen.

He says that the theft of at least five guitars - and possibly more - happened at his North Eden Street home in the west end sometime last night.

“I’m devastated and it’s senseless,” Lucas told SooToday via social media. “I teach and play guitar in my garage which was all set up for it. I lost some unique guitars.”

The Tenaris employee counts a Fender Stratocaster, Fender Telecaster, Martin semi-acoustic, and his very first guitar, a Yamaha acoustic, among his prized possessions that were stolen during the garage break and enter.

Lucas also lost a unique SG-style guitar that is completely leather-bound with a Lynyrd Skynyrd logo stamped into the front. The back of the guitar is stamped with a design bearing his last name, a horseshoe and some hearts.

“The horseshoe is because I have a camp in Horseshoe Bay, and the hearts are my wife and three daughters,” he said.

Lucas said that police will be investigating.

People with information regarding this incident can call Sault Ste. Marie Police Services or Crime Stoppers.
