Saultites have until Saturday to drop off their Christmas trees for recycling.
Real trees can be taken to Clean North’s collection depot in the Cambrian Mall parking lot.
Volunteers are on-site in the afternoon, but trees can be dropped off at any time.
Trees will be chipped up and turned into mulch, which will be available to the public at an event in May.
The Clean North depot is also collecting clean towels and blankets for the Humane Society, and used books, magazines, CDs and DVDs for the Friends of the Library.
The organization says since it started over 20 years ago, its Christmas tree recycling program has helped keep thousands of trees out of the Sault Ste. Marie landfill.
