More than a hundred Malcolm White wannabes have applied to be Sault Ste. Marie's next chief administrative officer.

A CAO selection committee comprised of Mayor Matthew Shoemaker, Ward 3 Coun. Angela Caputo, Ward 4 Coun. Marchy Bruni and headhunter Feldman Daxon Partners has whittled 108 applicants down to a shortlist of 10.

After a meeting of the selection committee on Monday, four first-round interviews had been conducted.

CAO White is set to retire at the end of January.

The selection committee is hoping to announce the successful candidate by the end of this month or early January.
