Check it twice: Date set for annual Santa Claus parade

The Rotary Santa Claus Parade will be cruising through downtown Saut Ste. Marie on Nov. 18.

The annual event, which sees Santa Claus parade down Queen Street East, will also include cash prizes for winning floats.

Among the categories are High School Spirit Award, Elementary School Spirit Award, Best Corporate Entry, Best Community Entry, and the Norm Candelori Trophy for Best in Parade.

“We are very excited to be awarding cash prizes for best entries this year. What a great way to drum up some holiday cheer,” saidDavid K. Marshall, Parade Marshal and Chief Elf Organizer. “Santa told me that Sault Ste. Marie is his favourite place to be. He loves all the kids that come out to the parade. He can’t wait to see their smiling faces, and the creativity from the community.”
