No, he's not that Chad Everett!

The hunky star who collected two Golden Globe awards and two Emmy nominations during his seven-year stint as Dr. Joe Gannon in TV's Medical Center (1969-1976) spells his first name with just one d - Chad.

But the OPP advise us this morning that a guy named Chadd (with two d's) Everett has been arrested in Blind River on a bunch of charges related to a break-in on Shurm Street and a subsequent police chase.

Here's what they sent us:

********************* (Blind River, Ont.) - Just after 8 a.m. on Sunday 28 August 2005 the owner of Schurm Street home returned to her residence to find that it had be broken into.

Several items had been strewn about the yard and interior of the house. East Algoma OPP began the investigation and learned that the keys to the owner's car and the vehicle had been stolen as well.

It turned out that the owner has seen a car that looked like hers drive past another location and when she went to check on her car she discovered the break-in.

An officer on patrol noticed the stolen car in the Town of Blind River and attempted to stop the car but the driver evaded Police and sped off.

Police pursued the car for a short distance and when the stolen car exceeded 100 km/h in a 50-km/h zone the police discontinued the pursuit.

A short time later Police located the stolen car on Centre St. in Blind River where they found that it had collided with a parked car in front of a residence. Officers located the driver and got into a short foot pursuit before arresting him at a Centre St home.

Moderate to major damage was done to both vehicles.

Stolen in the break-in were some electronics, money, tools and the car to a total value of approximately $15,000.

Charged is: 22-year-old Chadd Everett of 8 Patricia Street in Blind River.

Charges: Break enter and Theft, Flight from Police (under the Criminal Code) Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Resist Arrest, Breach of Probation and Breach of Recognizance.

Everett was held in custody and is to appear in court in Blind River on September 6.
