A house in the 600 block of Wellington Street West is facing severe damages after a vehicle appeared to have collided headfirst into the residence’s entranceway late Tuesday night.

The vehicle’s frontend was destroyed in the collision, leaving the home’s front deck and lower wall in shambles.

Damages to the lower portion of the home were so extensive that the inside of the basement could be seen from across the street.

Sault Police had the corner of Wellington Street West and Henrietta Avenue blocked off as investigators monitored the situation.

SooToday witnessed the vehicle involved in the crash being taken away from the scene at 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Most of the remaining crews on-site left shortly after.

Injuries from Tuesday night’s incident are unknown at this time.
