Car crashes into pole, knocks out telephone lines (4 photos)

Bay Street was closed while emergency crews waited for Bell Canada crews to clean up downed lines

A grey sedan took out a telephone pole this morning, closing Bay Street between East and Queen while police waited for phone company representatives to clean up downed lines.

PUC, firefirefighters, police and ambulance responded to the single-vehicle collision, which happened shortly before 8:30 a.m.

The single occupant of the car was taken to hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening.
