In honour of Italian Heritage Month, The Hon. Anthony Rota, Speaker of the House of Commons, and Sault Ste. Marie MP Terry Sheehan invites residents of Sault Ste. Marie to join a virtual conversation about being a Speaker of the House of Commons during the era of COVID-19.
The conversation will take place online this Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. Registration can be done through this link until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening.
More than 16,000 residents with Italian ancestry call Sault Ste. Marie home and the city is marked by many achievements of Italian-Canadians.
As a successful Italian-Canadian himself and Canada’s first-ever Italian Speaker of the House of Commons, Anthony Rota is excited to speak with the people of Sault Ste. Marie (fluently in English, Italian, French, and Spanish) about Canada’s Italian heritage.
