The school is soon to be demolished to make way for parking facilities and a yard for the new high school being built on that lot.

The Last Chop, held today, was the final event to take place at Bawating.

The school was opened to the public for people to tour and take pictures.

There were also stacks of school memorabilia available for sale or to give away.

Some of the banners that decorated the gymnasium were sold as well as old football helmets like the one modelled by four-year-old Keiran Woolley (shown).

A few former students even took home their locker doors.

The school closed its doors to the public for the last time at 4:30 p.m. today and alumni gathered at the Canadian Night Club where the cover charge was waived for all alumni.

The Bawating alumni and student associations are going to host a party at the Mocking Bird Hill Corn Maze, which will be shaped like the Bawating team logo.

From October 7 to 9, 2011, the Bawating Alumni Association will be hosting Bawating's 50th reunion.
