On Highway 17, 56 kilometres north of Sault Ste. Marie, stands a monument to Dr. Doolittle.

It was erected at Chippewa Falls in 1964, two years after the Trans-Canada Highway was officially opened.

Dr. Perry E. Doolittle is the father of the Trans-Canada Highway.

Or so it says on the monument.

That's where SooToday.com found an old and dear friend.

Brittany Soo, a former member of our news staff whose job fell victim last year to the recession and her penchant for charging really expensive shoes to the company expense account, was right there in front of the monument when we arrived at Chippewa Falls.

So we asked her to join us for another photo shoot.

After the rave reviews she got for her last SooToday.com stint, Brittany was happy to oblige.

For a while.

Unfortunately things went a little sour when she nearly went over the falls, as seen in this cover shot for a gallery of pictures we took at the falls today.

After that it was all downhill as she bolted for the woods, over a rock and down the trail, nearly twisting her ankle on a root.

It looked like a lot of other people we saw at the falls were having a good time, though.
