The City of Elliot Lake says NHL teams will take to the ice in Sudbury in the fall as part of the prize package won by Elliot Lake in the Kraft Hockeyville contest.

The Ottawa Senators and Pittsburgh Penguins will play at the Sudbury Community Arena on Sept. 29, the city said in a news release.

There had been speculation the game would be played in either Sault Ste. Marie or Sudbury – both home to larger arenas for their OHL teams – as the Elliot Lake arena is in need of repair, and would not have been large enough to host a game even under ideal conditions.

The City of Elliot Lake said more information regarding the game and ticketing will be announced at a later date.
