Announcing the Ward 4 Neighbours Meeting

The Sault Ste. Marie Ratepayers Association (SSMRA) would like to thank Councillor Niro for agreeing to participate in the upcoming October 25 Ward 4 Neighbour Meeting.

This is a relatively new concept and we are fortunate to have Councillor Niro’s participation that will help to develop this process further. 

We have included some information on how the event will unfold.

The gathering will begin at 7 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2012 in the Russ Ramsay Room at City Hall. 

The meeting will open with a brief introduction of what makes up the Sault Ste. Marie Ratepayers Association, outlining our goals and methods, while promoting active and responsible participation in local government.

Following our opening introduction, Councillor Niro will provide a brief statement about himself and his experience on council with an update of current issues facing Ward 4, from his perspective, along with any upcoming items he anticipates in your ward. 

The rest of the meeting will be a question and answer format between citizens and Ward 4 representation.

Updates from the following:

• Finance Group - Update of the progress in building communications bridges with city finance October 23 budget meeting with the public
• Procedural Group Report: Information on procedures of council and community input
• Dog Park - LOLDOGS (Legal Off Leash Dog Owners Group of Sault Ste Marie) will be presenting an update on the development of the proposed dog park for Sault Ste Marie.

It is our belief that this new process of Ward gatherings has become valuable to community communications.
