3:36 p.m. update:
The Algoma District School Board says the school has been searched by police and there is "no current risk to students or staff."
From the board:
"Parents are advised that the school will be open and classes will be running on regular schedule for Thursday, March 24, 2016. As a follow-up and precautionary measure, a police presence will be maintained at the school tomorrow.
The Board wishes to thank students, staff, parents and Sault Ste. Marie Police Services for their cooperation and assistance during today’s evacuation.
We would also like to remind everyone that any information received that could pose a safety concern to a school or our community needs to be reported immediately to the police."

On March 23, 2016, officers from the Criminal Investigations Unit arrested a 15-year-old male in relation to this investigation.
The accused has been charged with Public Mischief, Mischief – interfering with person in lawful enjoyment and use and Uttering Threats.
The accused will appear in court on April 26.
This investigation is continuing.
Original release
On March 23, 2016 at approximately 8:30 a.m., the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to a call for service regarding a threat to Superior Heights Collegiate& Vocational School located at 750 North St., Sault Ste. Marie.
As a result the Algoma District School Board made a decision to direct a precautionary closure of the school while the matter was being investigated.
The investigation is on-going but there is no indication that there is any immediate threat to the safety of the school or its staff and students at this time.
