ARCH Hospice and Sault Area Hospital Foundation are excited to announce the return of the 23rd Annual Run the Great Lakes! This year’s run will take place on Sunday, June 5, at the Delta Hotel in Sault Ste. Marie, ON. Join hundreds of others in our community’s biggest annual running event.

If you’re new to the running scene, an elite runner, or looking for something fun to do with your family or coworkers, Great Lakes Honda Run the Great Lakes is the event for you this spring. You don’t have to be fast - you can jog or even walk your way to the finish line while supporting both local health charities! The cost to register is $40, which includes your numbered bib and qualifies you for division race prizes. If you register by May 26th you’ll also receive a 2022 run t-shirt. Register now at www.rungreatlakes.com/register.

Choose your distance: the 5K sponsored by Cintas, or the 10K loop if you’re feeling like a challenge. Kids of all ages are invited to participate in the Northern Credit Union Kids Run. Register your child for 1K or 2K run for only $20, which includes a 2022 run t-shirt! Enjoy family-friendly activities as well, including bean-bag toss, sidewalk chalk, “tattoo” table and lots of food, prizes, and giveaways.

Feeling a little competitive, need a team-building or wellness activity, or maybe just had a blast with the Sault Sign War? Gather your coworkers, friends, neighbours, and family to take part in this year’s Team Challenge! Throw some shade on business signs, challenge your ‘competition’ (we heard nurses are calling out doctors!), compete for social clout, participation numbers, or run times – it’s up to you! Just don’t be afraid to have fun (or even wear ridiculous costumes!), include your team name on your registration, and tag #RunTheGreatLakes!

“We are thrilled to welcome back Run the Great Lakes! Even with the short timeline, I know everyone is ready to get back into the swing of things. We have a number of great new sponsors, and with a good turnout, we can set a record for the amount of money we can generate for these two great charities. Every single dollar from registration goes to ARCH and SAHF, so every entry is important and supports local health care!” - Doug Richardson, Run Committee Chair and owner of The Shoe Fits.

The run has raised over $125,000 for charities in the Algoma District. The past two years of the pandemic have shown the importance of supporting local health, and this run is a win for everyone in the community. This event is possible, thanks to the generous support of our Title Sponsor, Great Lakes Honda, as well as Platinum Sponsors: Tenaris, Cintas, The Shoe Fits, Northern Credit Union, SooToday.com, and Delta Hotels by Marriott Sault Ste. Marie Waterfront. Check out the website www.rungreatlakes.com for more information, pictures, and standings from previous years. We hope to see everyone out on Sunday, June 5, all laced up, and ready to put the fun into run!
