Dave Pauli and his wife, Lisa, are all smiles after Dave won $14,115 in ARCH's July 50/50 draw

The winner of last month's ARCH fundraising draw buys tickets simply because it's a great charity.

Dave Pauli won $14,115 from ARCH's July 50/50 Grand Prize Draw with ticket #A-2540596, the hospice says.

Pauli was surprised to see ARCH calling his phone, but was quickly overcome with happiness when he received the good news, ARCH said in a news release.

Pauli and his wife, Lisa, never expected to win, but have been generously purchasing tickets for the past few months.

The winners know about the Algoma Residential Community Hospice's services through word of mouth and despite not having a direct connection to the hospice, they choose to support because they believe in ARCH’s mission.

“Hospice is something very important. It takes a huge burden off of families,” Pauli said. “ARCH is such a fantastic charity.”

People are ARCH said they are incredibly grateful for the support from Dave, Lisa, and other community supporters.

“The support of the ARCH 50/50 is so important for our resident care," said Dale Dumanski, palliative volunteer at ARCH. "As a volunteer, I see the value in supporting hospice each and every day. The love and support from our community is appreciated beyond belief. Thank you.”

Tickets for the August ARCH 50/50 are on sale now at www.ARCH5050.ca. The winner’s jackpot has a guaranteed minimum of $9,999 and Early Bird ticket holders will have a chance at winning an additional $1,000.

Proceeds raised from the 50/50 go directly towards the care and support of hundreds of residents, community clients, and their families served by ARCH each year. The deadline to purchase tickets for August’s Grand Prize Draw is Aug. 30 at 9:30 a.m.
