APH reports six new cases of COVID-19

There are currently 28 active cases in the region

Six new cases of COVID-19 have been reported by Algoma Public Health.

This brings the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 509.

Four of the cases have been classified as close contact, meaning they had come into contact with a previously known case of COVID.

Two of the cases were tied to recent international travel.

All individuals were tested between Oct. 22 and 25, and they are all currently self-isolating.

There are 28 active cases of COVID in the Algoma Public Health region, and no hospitalizations.

Regions that have reported cases in the last two weeks:

  • Sault Ste. Marie and area
  • North Algoma
