APH reports one new case of COVID-19 in Sault Ste. Marie

Case #469 falls into the 'close contact' category of exposure

Algoma Public Health (APH) is reporting one new case of COVID-19 in the Sault Ste. Marie area.

A notice issued by APH states that case #469 falls under the 'close contact' category of exposure, meaning that they have had contact with a known COVID case.

The individual was tested on Sept. 28, and they are self-isolating.

APH reports eight active cases and no hospitalizations in the Algoma district.

Algoma regions with COVID-19 cases reported in the past 14 days include:

  • Sault Ste. Marie and area

  • Elliot Lake and area
