Algoma Public Health has reported 14 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19, down from 21 yesterday.

The report also shows 75 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, but those numbers may be underestimated due to limits on who can be tested.

The number of active cases in the region is 614, down from 617 in the last report, and 78 cases have been resolved.

APH completed 330 tests, with a positivity rate of 22.7 per cent.

Of the people eligible for vaccination in the region, 83.8 per cent have had at least two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Note: As of Dec. 31, 2021, the province has limited COVID-19 PCR testing to the highest risk populations. Furthermore, some people with mild or asymptomatic infection may not seek testing. Algoma Public Health states that the numbers of confirmed cases are an underestimate of the actual number of people with COVID-19 in the Algoma region.
