Algoma Public Health has reported no new hospitalizations in the region since the last report, and 45 new cases of COVID-19, though due to limitations on who can be tested, that number may be underestimated.

There are currently 556 active cases of COVID-19 in the region, down from 557 in the last report, which means that 46 cases were resolved.

APH has completed 253 tests with a positivity rate of 17.7 per cent.

There are currently 18 people in hospital with COVID-19 in the region.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, APH has reported 4,072 cases of COVID-19, with 3,516 cases resolved and 27 deaths.

Note: As of Dec. 31, 2021, the province has limited COVID-19 PCR testing to the highest risk populations. Furthermore, some people with mild or asymptomatic infection may not seek testing. Algoma Public Health states that the numbers of confirmed cases are an underestimate of the actual number of people with COVID-19 in the Algoma region.
