Algoma Public Health is reporting five new COVID-19 cases in Algoma.
These new cases bring the active case count in the region to 19 and the total number of COVID-cases in Algoma since the start of the pandemic to 430.
Of the new cases, three are from the Sault area, one is from north Algoma, and one is from central and east Algoma.
- Case 426, tested on Aug. 26, is from close contact.
- Case 427, tested on Aug. 27, falls under the unknown exposure category.
- Case 428, tested on Aug. 27, is from close contact.
- Case 429, tested on Aug. 27, is from close contact.
- Case 430, tested on Aug. 28, is from close contact.
All five individuals are self-isolating.
Algoma Public Health is also advising the public of a potential exposure to COVID-19 for anyone who travelled on the following Air Canada flights:
- Flight AC 134 on Aug. 26, 2021, from Calgary to Toronto. Passengers who sat in rows 27-35 and flight crew who served these rows should contact their local public health unit for further information.
- Flight AC 8323 on Aug. 26, 2021, from Toronto to Sault Ste. Marie. Passengers who sat in rows 6-12 and flight crew who served these rows should contact their local public health unit for further information.
