After reporting a new COVID-19 case earlier today, Algoma Public Health is reporting two additional COVID-19 cases in the region.
Of the two new cases, one is from the Sault Ste. Marie area while the other is from central and east Algoma and they bring the total number of cases in the region since the start of the pandemic to 228.
APH is also advising anyone who visited Bath and Body Works in the Station Mall on Saturday between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. of a potential low-risk exposure.
The health unit advises that anyone who visited Bath and Body Works to:
- Self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 for 14 days from potential exposure
- Self-isolate immediately if symptoms develop
- Seek testing if symptoms occur
Case No. 227, tested on March 28, falls under the exposure category of close contact, meaning the individual had close contact with a known confirmed case.
Case No. 228, tested on March 26, falls under the exposure category of unknown, meaning the individual did not have any recent international travel or close contact with a known confirmed case.
Both individuals are currently self-isolating.
The two new cases bring the total number of active cases in the region to 17.
