APH reporting new COVID case in north Algoma

Algoma Public Health is reporting a new case of COVID-19 in north Algoma.

Tested on Sept. 30, the individual was exposed to COVID through close contact with a known confirmed case and is currently self-isolating.

There are currently seven active cases in Algoma and one hospitalization.

Regions in Algoma that have reported COVID-19 cases in the past two weeks include:

  • North Algoma
  • Elliot Lake and area
  • Sault Ste. Marie and area

The new case brings the total number of COVID cases in Algoma since the start of the pandemic to 473.
