Algoma Public Health is reporting three new COVID-19 cases in the Algoma region as well as potential exposure on a flight that landed in the Sault on Tuesday from Toronto.
APH is advising the public of potential exposure on Air Canada flight AC 8325 from Toronto to the Sault.
Passengers who sat in rows one to five and flight crew who served those rows are asked to contact their local public health unit for further information.
APH is also advising anyone who was on the flight to monitor for signs and symptoms for 10 days from potential exposure, self-isolate immediately and seek testing if symptoms occur.
The three new COVID cases in the region include one from the Sault area, one from the Elliot Lake area, and one from north Algoma.
All three were tested on Oct. 5.
Cases 475 and 476 are under the exposure category of unknown, which means the individuals did not have any recent international travel or close contact with a known confirmed case.
Case 477 was exposed through international travel.
All three individuals are currently self-isolating.
There are currently nine active cases in the region and two are currently hospitalized. There is also one active case in the region which is a non-Algoma resident who is temporarily in the region.
