Annual teachers vs. students hockey game raises funds for the Heaven Cent campaign

The total amount raised will be announced after all events have been held

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, St. Mary’s College hosted its annual teachers vs. students hockey game on Friday, Dec. 13, at the Pee Wee Arena.

The game, which has become a cherished tradition at the school for over 15 years, not only showcased the friendly rivalry between faculty and students, but also served as a powerful fundraising effort to support a number of local charities.

The final score was 10-3 with the teachers dominating the students once again.

“Win or lose I love that the money being raised is going to local charities” said grade 12 student Michael Pagnotta.

“Even though we lost, it's a surreal moment for us playing knowing that the Heaven Cent campaign fundraiser will be donating its funds to local charities. I couldn’t ask for a better group of classmates and teacher to play with,” said Grade 12 student Jeff Antonello.

Heaven Cent is a student-driven fundraising campaign held at St. Mary's College during Advent, which features different events.

The total amount raised will be announced after all events have been held.
