*************************** Foundation News Release

Kim Zettler will begin her duties as director of the Sault College Foundation next Monday, March 3.

The former manager and CEO of the Downtown Association will design and implement a fund-raising program in support of academic programming and student services at Sault College.

Zettler will also be responsible for managing the institution’s alumni association.

"Kim’s record of initiating highly successful events and campaigns make her an ideal choice," said Vincent Sguigna, chair of the foundation’s board of directors.

"We are confident that Kim will contribute much to enhancements that will benefit Sault College students and alumni."

In her position with the Downtown Association, Zettler introduced several major community events.

They included the Reynolds Memorial 4-on-4 Street Hockey Tournament, Let It Ride Motorcycle Rally, and Taste of Sault Ste. Marie.

Before joining the Downtown Association, Zettler served as general manager for the 2000 Ontario Winter Games in Sault Ste. Marie.

From 1996 until 1999, the director-select was the membership and programs co-ordinator for the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police.

She also worked previously with the Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation and the Sault Ste. Marie Community Theatre Centre.

Zettler is on the board of the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation and contributes as a volunteer to United Way, Team Doc, the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce, and Tourism Sault Ste. Marie.

Zettler completed business administration studies at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in Toronto.

She also pursued webmaster studies through the Durham Regional Police Service and studied art history at Hoegeschol University in The Netherlands.
