When Alvin and Patricia Parker were married seven years ago, there was no honeymoon.

But last night, Alvin more than made up for it, treating his parents, in-laws and wedding party to a grand dinner at Gran Festa Ristorante.

The big spender and his 10 guests arrived by Comfort Limousine, enjoying a seven course dinner personally served by Gran Festa owner Jason Zachary, including special wines with each course, cocktails, appetizers, specialty coffees and desserts.

Alvin and his bride will continue their elegant escapade this week with a trip to Toronto for a two-night stay at the Delta Chelsea Downtown Toronto and more sumptuous dining at the swank Il Fornello Restaurant.

The Parkers' big night out was the grand prize in the Sault Red Cross's Puttin’ on the Ritz fundraiser.

For a $20 ticket, the couple won a prize package worth more than $4,200.

The fundraiser, supported by other sponsors including the Tom Walls School of Music, pianist Michael Connell, Flowers with Flair, Superior 7 Signs, Huckson Brothers Inc. and Weddings Etc., helped the Red Cross provide such needed programs as Community Kitchens, Community Gardens, Abuse Prevention, Disaster Services and Seniors’ Services.
