Camp McDougall is a summer camp for children aged 6-14 located in Thessalon, Ontario on the shore of Lake Huron.

It is sponsored by the United Church of Canada, and holds a heavy emphasis on themes of nature, friendship, and recreation.

During the month of June, Camp McDougall was faced with a disastrous complication.

A microburst (an extremely strong wind storm) knocked down thirty three 90-foot pine trees.

Luckily nobody was injured.

However, one building was completely demolished, while another had extensive damage.

Thanks to the help of several donors, churches, volunteers, board members and staff, Camp McDougall was able to clean up the debris from the microburst and helped to prepare camp for another great summer!

This week, we are in the middle of counsellor training and getting our staff [photo] ready to take on all the new campers who are registered for this season.

We are all very anxious and excited to see what this summer will bring.

Get your registration forms today through our website, at any United Church in the Algoma District, or give us a call at 705-842-2524.
